Next we're going to hear piece called Sleepers Awake 

Sleepers Wake ..  and of course, I've already mentioned how impressed

I am with John Sebastian Bach.

Well while he was busy writing those 1,100 pieces that we

discussed earlier in 1773.

Johann Sebastian Bach was appointed Cantor at the 

St.Thomas Church in Leipzig, Germany.

He was also the director of music for the principal churches

in literacy and his spare time Bach was expected to compose

a cantata for church services every Sunday.

Resulting in over 300 cantatas during his time in Letpzig.

It's amazing what you can do when you don't have television

and texting, you know email would have you.

Sleepers Wake is a Lutheran hymn written by Philip Nikolai

and first published in 1599     Bach used this hymn as the basis

for his cantata     the band now plays Sleepers Wake by Johann

Sebastian Bach and arranged by Phillips Park.
